MINUTES 08-06

I.          CALL TO ORDER

            Chairperson Marx called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

 

II.            APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JANUARY 22, 2008 & FEBRUARY 19, 2008

Ms. Andren motioned to amend the January 22, 2008 minutes as follows:  “IV. Projects.  A.  … Tentative schedule … Add ‘Lillian Ramey’ on list for February 9^th”.  Ms. Quilleux seconded to amend the minutes.  Motion passed unanimously. 

 

Ms. Andren motioned to amend the February 19, 2008 minutes as follows:  “III.  Report from Vice Chairperson Bozeman  …Interviewees were:  … John MacNeill, Sr. and Lillian Ramey.”  Ms. Quilleux seconded.  Motion passed unanimously. 

 

III.            REPORT FROM CHAIRMAN MARX BOZEMAN

Chairperson Marx introduced Ms. Earp who gave a brief history of herself.  Other committee members introduced themselves to Ms. Earp.   

 

Chairperson Marx requested committee members to bring a list with them to the next meeting showing where documents, photographs, equipment, etc., are being stored.  

 

IV.            PROJECTS

A.             Potential Interviewee Schedule

Vice Chairperson Bozeman will continue to update the Potential Interviewee List.  Chairperson Marx suggested interviewing and photographing Ms. Gibbs and Bonny DeKalb.  Chairperson Marx agreed to draft a cover letter to attach to the questionnaire to be sent out to potential interviewees to see if they are receptive.  Committee members agreed to provide Ms. Holmgren with addresses so that she can mail the letters and questionnaires. 

 

B.             Archive Files

Ms. Andren and Ms. Bruffey are continuing to work on archiving in Chambers, defining the “who, what and where.”  Ms. Andren has spoken with the town clerk who is researching posting the archival information to the Town’s website in the near future.  In addition, Mr. Ron Constantino has volunteered to take photographs of information in the archival files. 

 

C.                Indialantic Heritage Committee Status Report

Vice Chairperson Bozeman completed the final report to be given to the Town Manager and Town Council so they are aware of the Committee’s dedication, value and on-going projects. 

 

D.                Annual Town Meeting

Vice Chairperson Bozeman motioned to hold the event in the Spring of 2009.  Ms. Andren seconded.  Motion passed unanimously. 

 

E.                 Indialantic Record

Chairperson Marx agreed to draft an article asking residents for information on the Bahama Beach Club and will give to the town clerk for the Indialantic Record  prior to the next edition (June 2008).

 

F.                 Historical Building Guide

Possible future project – updating current guide. 

 

V.            OTHER

The next meeting is April 15^th at 8:00 a.m.
